By the order of 03 and 06.04.2023 of the High Court (Family Division) of England and Wales, it was ordered in accordance with the 1980 Hague Convention on the Civil Aspects of International Child Abduction that a minor girl, aged 9 years, be returned from England, where her mother had unlawfully retained her after the end of the summer holidays, to Greece, where she had previously lived, in accordance with the 1980 Hague Convention on the Civil Aspects of International Child Abduction. With this order, the court put an end to a legal thriller that played out after the mother’s refusal to return with the child to Greece, where the two parents were staying with the child. I acted as legal adviser to the client in Greece, assisting the legal team of the London law firm Dawson Cornwell in the proceedings for the return of the child.
